Together with the AOPA American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association and the German exhibitors, a special programme was organised in 2009 as a showcase for German technical orthopaedics.
The approach bore fruits, the first German Day with the title “Modern treatment in chronic low back pain“ at the AOPA in Seattle was a very great success. A good programme was conducted with the chairman Prof. Greitemann, more than 150 participants and representatives from the companies Bauerfeind, Otto Bock, Streifeneder and Medi. In return the AOPA supported the US joint stand at the O+R 2010 in Leipzig and the exchange between American and German companies and specialists.
As a subsidiary of the German Association of Orthopaedic Technology (BIV-OT), Confairmed GmbH is organising a German Day on the topic of cerebral palsy in 2010 in response to an invitation from AOPA during the AOPA National Assembly from September 29 to October 2, 2010 in Orlando, Florida. AOPA represents the interests of nearly 2,000 industrial enterprises and medical-therapeutic institutions in the USA.
The German Day, which is being held on October 1, 2010 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Orlando Convention Hotel, offers an impression of therapeutic know-how regarding this clinical picture and thereby illustrates the advanced status of orthopaedics technology in Germany.
Dr. Franz Landauer from the Salzburg Orthopaedic University Hospital, an internationally renowned expert, was successfully recruited to chair the event referred to as the "International Track" in the clinical education programme during the AOPA convention. Landauer will speak about the time factor as a variable affecting the cause, progression and therapeutic effects in cerebral palsy. Additional scientific and industrial presentations on therapy concepts and gait analysis as well as orthotic and orthobionic treatment concepts, also in case of spina bifida, underscore the high level of German orthopaedics technology.
