Zusammenfassung:	We assessed the functional benefit and the mechanical contribution of AFOs prescribed to overcome drop foot gait in central neurological patients. The AFO was functionally beneficial in 4 out of 7 patients. This result could be explained by the mechanical contribution of the AFO. Abstract
