| Zusammenfassung: | Proximal femoral focal deficiency is a rare disorder but commonly seen in pediatric limb deficiency centers. Decision making for this problem is complex and multifactorial. The purpose of this symposium is to present a comprehensive look at this malady. This seminar will cover diagnosis, classification, conservative treatment, operative treatment both complex and simple, long-term follow-up, bilateral cases, genetics and complication of treatment. An in-depth discussion of appropriate femoral length, rotationplasty, and prosthetic fitting will be emphasized. A panel discussion will follow with audience participation encouraged. |
