| Zusammenfassung: | Customization of upper-limb prostheses is a crossroads of art, design, and fabrication technology. It addresses the functional needs of the user from aesthetics to manipulation. This symposium will present examples of custom upper-limb prostheses, both anthropomorphic and non-anthropomorphic, drawn from a variety of disciplines, including art, industrial design, engineering research, product development, and clinical prosthetics. Rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing techniques will be examined for their role in customization and impact on the future of upper-limb prostheses. |
